Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large pot, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, diced carrot, and diced celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  2. 2

    Add Tomatoes

Stir in the diced tomatoes and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they begin to break down.

  3. 3

    Pour in the Liquids

Pour in the fish or seafood stock and white wine. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  4. 4

    Season the Broth

Add the chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to the pot. Stir well to combine.

Cooking the Seafood

  1. 5

    Add Seafood

Once the broth is simmering, add the shrimp, fish fillets, mussels, and clams to the pot. Stir gently.

  2. 6

    Simmer

Cover the pot and let the soup simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through and the mussels and clams have opened.

  3. 7

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the soup and adjust the seasoning with more salt, pepper, or red pepper flakes if needed.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve Hot

Ladle the seafood soup into bowls and garnish with additional chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot with crusty bread.
