Method
Preparing the Steak
- 1
Season the Steak
Sprinkle both sides of the ribeye steaks with salt and black pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- 2
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to high heat, around 450°F (232°C).
- 3
Add Olive Oil and Herbs
In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, and chopped rosemary. Brush this mixture over the steaks.
- 4
Grill the Steaks
Place the steaks on the hot grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust time for your preferred doneness.
- 5
Rest the Steak
Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
Making French Fries
- 6
Prepare the Potatoes
Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
- 7
Soak the Potatoes
Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry.
- 8
Heat the Oil
In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature.
- 9
Fry the Potatoes
Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 10
Season the Fries
While still hot, sprinkle the fries with salt to taste.
Making Garlic Butter
- 11
Melt the Butter
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
