Method

Prepare the Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined to avoid overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty about 3/4 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

Prepare Toppings and Bun

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

Spread butter on the cut sides of the hamburger buns. Toast them on the grill or in a skillet until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Slice Tomato

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato into rounds.

Assemble the Cheeseburger

  1. 7

    Layer Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cheesy beef patty, tomato slices, and pickles.

  2. 8

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately.
