Method
Brewing Instructions
- 1
Step 1: Prepare the Water
Start by heating 1000 ml of water in a brew kettle until it reaches 70°C (158°F).
- 2
Step 2: Mash the Grains
Add the malted barley and caramel malt to the hot water and maintain the temperature for 60 minutes to allow the sugars to extract.
- 3
Step 3: Sparging
After 60 minutes, rinse the grain with an additional 500 ml of hot water to extract more sugars.
- 4
Step 4: Boil the Wort
Bring the collected liquid (wort) to a boil and add the hops. Boil for 30 minutes.
- 5
Step 5: Cool the Wort
After boiling, cool the wort rapidly to below 30°C (86°F) using a wort chiller or ice bath.
- 6
Step 6: Fermentation
Transfer the cooled wort to a fermentation vessel and sprinkle the yeast on top. If using optional flavoring, add it now.
- 7
Step 7: Carbonation
Seal the fermentation vessel and let it sit for 3-5 days at room temperature. Once fermentation is complete, bottle the non-alcoholic beer with a small amount of corn sugar to carbonate.
- 8
Step 8: Chill and Serve
Refrigerate the bottles for a few days, then serve chilled. Enjoy your homemade non-alcoholic beer!
