Tomato Topping

Method

Preparation of Tomato Topping

1

Chop Tomatoes

Dice the Roma tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

2

Chop Garlic

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

3

Add Basil

Chop the fresh basil leaves and fold them into the tomato and garlic mixture.

4

Season Mixture

Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the tomato mixture. Stir well to combine and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Grilling Bread

5

Prepare Baguette

Slice the baguette diagonally into 1/2-inch thick slices.

6

Brush with Olive Oil

Brush one side of each slice of baguette with olive oil.

7

Grill Bread

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Place the oiled side of the baguette slices down on the grill and grill for about 2-3 minutes or until grill marks appear and the bread is toasted.

8

Flip and Toast

Flip the slices over and grill for an additional 1-2 minutes until the other side is also toasted.

Assembly

9

Top with Tomato Mixture

Remove the grilled bread from the grill and place it on a serving platter. Spoon the marinated tomato mixture generously on top of each slice of grilled bread.

10

Serve

Serve immediately while the bread is still warm and enjoy your bruschetta!
