Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. In a small bowl, mix together the kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Rub the olive oil over both sides of the steak, then generously season both sides of the steak with the spice mixture.

Grilling

  1. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, about 450°F to 500°F (232°C to 260°C). Make sure the grill grates are clean and well-oiled to prevent sticking.

  2. 3

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steak on the hot grill. Grill for approximately 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it. This will create a nice sear.

  3. 4

    Flip the Steak

Using tongs, flip the steak and grill for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare (internal temperature of 135°F or 57°C). Adjust the time to your preference for doneness.

  4. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a juicy steak.

Serving

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the ribeye steak against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your perfectly grilled ribeye steak!
