Main Ingredients

For Smoked Glass

Method

Cocktail Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Smoked Glass

Start by preparing your glass for smoking. Place a handful of wood chips in a small container and ignite them until they start to smoke. Place your glass upside down over the smoking wood chips to allow it to absorb the smoke flavor. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of Old Forester Bourbon, 0.5 oz of maple syrup, 0.25 tsp of green peppercorns, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

  3. 3

    Muddle and Stir

Using a muddler, gently press the green peppercorns to release their flavor. Then, add ice to the mixing glass and stir the mixture for about 30 seconds until well chilled.

  4. 4

    Strain into the Smoked Glass

Remove the smoked glass from the wood chips and strain the cocktail mixture into the glass. You can use a fine mesh strainer to avoid any bits of peppercorn.

  5. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Optionally, you can garnish with a few whole green peppercorns or a twist of citrus peel before serving. Enjoy your 'New Fashion' cocktail!
