Ingredients for Crab Cake Bites

Method

Directions for Crab Cake Bites

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the fresh crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, egg, chopped green onions, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Bites

Using your hands, take small portions of the mixture and shape them into bite-sized cakes, approximately 1 inch in diameter. Place the formed cakes on a plate.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat enough oil over medium heat to cover the bottom of the pan. Allow the oil to heat until shimmering but not smoking.

  4. 4

    Fry the Cakes

Carefully place the crab cake bites in the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Use a spatula to turn them gently.

  5. 5

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, remove the crab cake bites from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm with tartar sauce on the side.
