Crab Cake Bites
House Tartar Sauce
Method
Crab Cake Bites
- 1
Prepare the Crab Cake Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and chopped green onions. Gently fold the ingredients together to avoid breaking the crab meat.
- 2
Add Dry Ingredients
Sprinkle in the bread crumbs, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Add the lightly beaten egg and mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- 3
Form the Bites
Using your hands, form the mixture into small bite-sized cakes, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 4
Cook the Crab Cakes
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, cook the crab cake bites for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
House Tartar Sauce
- 5
Mix the Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, lemon juice, chopped capers, and dill. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed.
- 6
Season the Sauce
Add salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as necessary.
- 7
Chill and Serve
Refrigerate the tartar sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
