Method
Biscuits
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- 3
Cut in Butter
Add the cold, cubed unsalted butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4
Add Milk
Pour in the milk and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 5
Shape the Biscuits
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a couple of times. Pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Cut out biscuits using a round cutter.
- 6
Bake
Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Mixed Berry Jam
- 7
- 8
Cook the Jam
Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture starts to bubble.
- 9
Add Lemon Juice
Stir in the lemon juice and continue to cook for another 10-15 minutes, until the jam thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool.
Miso Butter
- 10
Mix Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, white miso paste, and honey. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- 11
Chill Butter
Transfer the miso butter to a piece of parchment paper and roll it into a log. Refrigerate until firm.
