Cocktail Ingredients
Method
Cocktail Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Blueberry Basil Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine equal parts of fresh blueberries, sugar, and water. Add 5-6 fresh basil leaves. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Allow to simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool. Strain the mixture to remove solids.
- 2
Muddle Fresh Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 5 fresh basil leaves and 6 fresh blueberries. Use a muddler to gently press down on the ingredients to release the flavors, being careful not to completely crush the basil.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Add 2 oz of Wild Turkey Long Branch Bourbon, 1 oz of St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, 0.5 oz of the prepared Blueberry Basil Syrup, 0.75 oz of fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz of agave nectar to the shaker with the muddled basil and blueberries.
- 4
Shake the Cocktail
Fill the cocktail shaker with ice cubes (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
- 5
Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass. Optionally, garnish with a sprig of fresh basil or a few whole blueberries for an elegant finish.
