Method
Onion Rings
Prepare the Onions
Slice the onions into thick rings and separate them.
Make the Batter
In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in cold beer or sparkling water until smooth.
Heat the Oil
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Onion Rings
Dip onion rings into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then fry in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
Drain the Onion Rings
Remove from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Seasoned Waffle Fries
Preheat Oven
Preheat the oven according to the package instructions for waffle fries.
Arrange on Baking Sheet
Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Bake the Fries
Bake according to package instructions until crispy and golden.
Mini Corn Dogs
Preheat Oil
Preheat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Make the Batter
In a bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, milk, and egg to make the batter.
Prepare the Hot Dogs
Insert wooden skewers into the mini hot dogs.
Coat with Batter
Dip each hot dog into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
Fry the Corn Dogs
Fry the corn dogs in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
Drain the Corn Dogs
Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Cheese Curds
Preheat Oil
Preheat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Coat the Cheese Curds
Dip cheese curds into the batter to coat evenly.
Fry the Cheese Curds
Fry the cheese curds until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
Drain the Cheese Curds
Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Dipping Sauces
Prepare Dipping Sauces
Serve ranch dressing and Gritty sauce in small bowls alongside the hot platters.
