Method

Mac & Cheese

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels. Once cooled, crumble into small pieces.

  3. 3

    Brown the Ground Chuck

In the same skillet, add ground chuck and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up with a spatula. Drain excess grease.

  4. 4

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour, cooking for 1-2 minutes until golden. Gradually whisk in milk, then add mustard powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Continue whisking until the sauce thickens.

  5. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked macaroni, ground chuck, crumbled bacon, pickles, and red onion to the cheese sauce. Stir well to combine and heat through.

  6. 6

    Prepare for Baking

Transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until bubbling and golden on top.

Buttermilk Biscuits

  1. 8

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

  2. 9

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. 10

    Cut in Butter

Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 11

    Add Buttermilk

Pour in buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 12

    Shape Biscuits

Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead gently 2-3 times, then roll out to about 1-inch thick. Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter.

  6. 13

    Bake Biscuits

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
