Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Make the Gritty Sauce
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and honey. Mix thoroughly until well combined. Set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Burger Patties
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chuck, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined; do not overwork the meat.
- 3
Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into three equal portions (approximately 6 oz each) and form into patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Assemble the Burgers
On the bottom half of each honey wheat bun, spread a generous amount of the Gritty sauce. Place the cooked burger patty on top, followed by lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
