Burger and Sauce

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Make the Gritty Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and honey. Mix thoroughly until well combined. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Burger Patties

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chuck, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined; do not overwork the meat.

  3. 3

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into three equal portions (approximately 6 oz each) and form into patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

  4. 4

    Cook the Burgers

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness (internal temperature of 160°F for medium).

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

On the bottom half of each honey wheat bun, spread a generous amount of the Gritty sauce. Place the cooked burger patty on top, followed by lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately with your favorite sides and enjoy with a cold New Glarus Spotted Cow.
