Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Cream the Butter and Sugars

In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

  5. 5

    Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, until just combined.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the greased baking pan and bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

S'mores Assembly

  1. 7

    Prepare the Toppings

Once the cake has cooled, sprinkle the chocolate morsels evenly over the top.

  2. 8

    Toast the Marshmallows

Using a kitchen torch or broiler, toast the mini marshmallows until golden brown and slightly melted. Be careful not to burn them.

  3. 9

    Layer the S'mores Ingredients

Spread the toasted marshmallows over the chocolate morsels, followed by a layer of graham cracker crumbs.

  4. 10

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Spread or pipe the whipped cream over the top of the cake.

  5. 11

    Dust with Powdered Sugar

Finally, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar for decoration.

  6. 12

    Serve

Slice the cake into squares and serve immediately for a delightful S'mores experience.
