Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pears
Wash the pears thoroughly under cold running water. Cut them into quarters, removing the seeds and core.
- 2
Combine Ingredients
In a large pot, combine the quartered pears, water, apple juice, lemon juice, and brown sugar.
Cooking
- 3
Simmer the Mixture
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 4
Straining and Serving
- 5
Strain the Cider
Remove the pot from heat. Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the mixture into a large bowl, pressing down on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
- 6
Cool and Serve
Let the strained cider cool to room temperature. Once cooled, transfer it to bottles or a pitcher and refrigerate. Serve chilled or warm according to your preference.
