Prepare the Yuca
Peel and cut the yuca into chunks. Boil in salted water for about 20-25 minutes, or until tender. Drain and let cool slightly.

Mash and Mix
Once cool enough to handle, mash the yuca in a bowl until smooth. Stir in the Japanese curry powder, chopped scallions, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Form Fritters
Shape the yuca mixture into small patties or fritters, about 2 inches in diameter.

Prepare for Frying
Dip each fritter into the beaten egg, then coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

Serve
Top each fritter with a spoonful of spicy tuna and garnish with serrano pepper slices. Serve immediately.
