Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Fettuccine

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, typically around 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 2

    Sauté the Shrimp

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the jumbo shrimp, and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Alfredo Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Make the Alfredo Sauce

In the same skillet used for the shrimp, reduce the heat to low and add the butter. Once melted, pour in the heavy cream and stir continuously. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese while stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Add the nutmeg and stir well to combine. Allow the sauce to simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Combine and Serve

  1. 4

    Combine Pasta, Shrimp, and Sauce

Add the cooked fettuccine and sautéed shrimp to the Alfredo sauce in the skillet. Toss gently to coat the pasta and shrimp evenly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.

  2. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Serve the shrimp Alfredo hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley on top.
