Method

Prepare the Strawberry Mixture

1

Chop and Combine

Wash and slice the fresh strawberries. In a bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Toss gently and let it sit for about 15 minutes to allow the strawberries to macerate and release their juices.

Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture

2

Mix the Cream

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, beat the mixture on medium-high speed until it forms soft peaks, about 3-5 minutes.

Assemble the Tiramisu

3

Layer the Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, start by dipping each ladyfinger cookie briefly in the strawberry puree. Lay them side by side in a single layer at the bottom of the dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture on top of the ladyfingers, followed by half of the macerated strawberries. Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and strawberries. Finish off with a sprinkle of chocolate shavings on top.

Chill and Serve

4

Refrigerate

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible, to allow the flavors to meld together. Before serving, garnish with fresh strawberries on top.
