Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x9 inch baking dish by greasing it with butter or lining it with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter and granulated sugar together using an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Incorporate Sea Buckthorn

Gently fold in the sea buckthorn puree into the butter mixture until thoroughly combined.

  6. 6

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

  7. 7

    Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Baking

  1. 8

    Transfer to Baking Dish

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.

  2. 9

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle the sea buckthorn berries evenly on top of the batter, pressing them in slightly.

  3. 10

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  4. 11

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
