Coffee
Method
Brewing
- 1
Setup
Prepare your brewing device (drip coffee maker or pour-over). Place a filter in the basket and rinse with hot water to remove any paper taste. Discard the rinse water.
- 2
Dose grounds
Add 18 g of ground coffee to the filter, spreading and leveling the bed for even extraction.
- 3
Heat water
Heat water to about 92–96°C (just below boiling). If using a kettle with a thermometer, aim for approximately 95°C.
- 4
Bloom
Pour a small amount of hot water (about 40–50 ml) over the grounds to saturate them. Allow the coffee to bloom for 30–45 seconds to release carbon dioxide.
- 5
Brew
Continue pouring the remaining water slowly in a steady, circular motion to keep the grounds evenly saturated. Aim to finish pouring within 2–3 minutes and let all the water drain through.
- 6
Serve
Once extraction is complete and dripping stops, remove the brewer or filter. Serve the coffee immediately in a warmed cup.
