Preparation Steps
1. Prepare the Clarified Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine coconut milk and citrus zest. Stir gently and let sit for 10 minutes to infuse the flavors.
2. Strain the Mixture
Using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, strain the coconut milk and citrus mixture to remove solids. Set aside the clarified liquid.
3. Mix the Cocktail
In a cocktail shaker, combine Cazadores tequila, tamarind paste, habanero agave syrup, fresh lime juice, and achiote paste.
4. Shake
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
5. Combine with Clarified Mixture
Strain the cocktail mixture into a glass and top with the clarified coconut milk mixture. Stir gently to combine.
6. Garnish and Serve
Garnish with a small slice of lime or a sprinkle of achiote if desired. Serve chilled.
