1. Prepare the Ginger-basil Almíbar
In a small saucepan, combine equal parts water and sugar. Add fresh ginger and basil leaves. Heat over medium until sugar dissolves. Simmer for 10 minutes, then strain and cool.
2. Mix the Drink
In a shaker, combine vodka, ginger-basil almíbar, lulo puree, and fresh lime juice. Add ice and shake well.
3. Assemble the Cocktail
Fill a glass with ice cubes. Strain the shaker mixture into the glass. Top with ginger beer and add aromatic bitters.
4. Garnish
Garnish with fresh basil leaves and a lime wedge if desired.
