- 1
Prepare glass
Chill a large wine glass or an old-fashioned glass briefly in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice and let it sit while you gather ingredients. If you prefer an extra aromatic touch, pour the optional 5 ml Aperol into the glass, swirl to coat the inside, then discard excess (glass rinse).
- 2
Add ice
Fill the chilled glass generously with fresh ice cubes to create a cold base and help preserve the soda's fizz.
- 3
Build the drink
Pour 90 ml (about 3 oz) of chilled Prosecco over the ice first. This reduces foam and helps control the mix. Next add 3 tablespoons (approximately 45 ml) of Aperol slowly so it layers slightly. Finally top with 30 ml (about 1 oz) of chilled soda water.
- 4
Stir gently
Using a bar spoon, stir once or twice gently to combine—just enough to integrate layers while preserving effervescence.
- 5
Garnish and serve
Slide one fresh orange slice onto the rim or into the glass. Serve immediately while cold and fizzy.
