Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a bowl, combine ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly. On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

Fries Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin fries. Rinse under cold water to remove excess starch and pat them dry with a towel.

  2. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the fries in batches and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  3. 6

    Season the Fries

Sprinkle with salt to taste while the fries are still hot. Serve alongside the burgers.
