Method
Prepare Glass
- 1
Rim the glass
Run the lime wedge around the rim of a 16-oz highball or pint glass. Pour the kosher salt onto a small plate and dip the rim into the salt to create an even salted rim. Set the glass aside.
- 2
Add ice
Fill the salted glass with ice, leaving room for the cocktail and beer top-up.
Mix Cocktail Base
- 3
In a cocktail shaker, add the blanco tequila (2 oz), freshly squeezed lime juice (0.75 oz), orange liqueur (0.5 oz), and agave nectar (0.5 oz). Add a small handful of ice to the shaker.
- 4
Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well chilled and slightly frothy.
- 5
Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over the ice, leaving space at the top for the beer.
Finish & Serve
- 6
Slowly top the cocktail with the Texas lager (6 oz). Pour gently over the back of a spoon or down the side of the glass to retain carbonation and produce a gentle head.
- 7
Give the drink a brief, gentle stir (1–2 rotations) to integrate the beer without flattening it.
- 8
Garnish the rim with the reserved lime wheel or wedge. Serve immediately with a straw or stir stick if desired.
