Main Ingredients

Seasoning and Flavoring

For frying

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped cooked ham or chicken and mashed potatoes. Mix well until combined.

  2. 2

    Add Seasonings

Add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, dried parsley, and optional mustard to the mixture. Stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Forming Croquettes

  1. 3

    Shape the Mixture

Take a portion of the mixture and shape it into small logs or patties, about 2 inches long. Repeat until all the mixture is used.

  2. 4

    Coat the Croquettes

Set up a dredging station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs. First, roll each croquette in flour, then dip it in the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.

  2. 6

    Fry the Croquettes

Carefully place the breaded croquettes in the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

  3. 7

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, remove the croquettes from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
