Sugar Coating

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the flour until fully incorporated and a ball forms.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

Sugar Coating Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Sugar and Cinnamon

In a shallow dish, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside for coating the churros.

Frying Churros

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Carefully pipe 6-inch strips of dough into the hot oil.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Coat in Sugar

While still warm, roll the churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat them evenly.
