Prepare the Patties
In a large bowl, combine the Angus ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently and form into 4 equal-sized patties.

Cook the Patties
Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of cooking oil. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Add Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of either provolone or American cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

Assemble the Burgers
Toast the burger buns lightly. Layer lettuce, the cooked beef patty with melted cheese, sliced tomato, and onion (raw or fried) on each bun.

Serve the Angus burgers hot with your choice of condiments and sides.
