Churro Dough

Method

Making Churros

  1. 1

    Prepare Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Let the dough cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated and smooth.

  3. 3

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe strips of dough (about 4-6 inches long) directly into the hot oil.

  5. 5

    Fry Churros

Fry churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

In a bowl, mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll the fried churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture while they are still warm.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve immediately with chocolate sauce or dulce de leche for dipping.
