Method
Prepare Glasses
- 1
Chill two tall serving glasses in the freezer for 5–10 minutes to keep the milkshake cold longer.
- 2
Drizzle about 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup inside each chilled glass, rotating the glass so syrup runs down the sides for a decorative effect.
Make the Milkshake
- 3
Combine ingredients
Place 3 cups premium chocolate ice cream, 1 cup whole milk, 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup, 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1 teaspoon granulated sugar into a blender. If using, add 2 tablespoons cooled espresso (or coffee), 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a pinch (0.25 tsp) of salt.
- 4
Blend
Secure the lid and blend on medium-high until smooth and fully combined, about 30–45 seconds. Stop and scrape down the sides once if needed. The shake should be thick but pourable; if too thick, add up to 2 tablespoons more milk and blend 5–10 seconds more. If too thin, add 2–4 tablespoons more ice cream and blend briefly.
- 5
Taste and adjust sweetness: add up to 1 teaspoon more sugar or 1 tablespoon more chocolate syrup if desired, and blend for 5 seconds to incorporate.
Assemble & Garnish
- 6
Pour the blended milkshake evenly into the prepared glasses.
- 7
Top each milkshake with a generous dollop of whipped cream (about 1/4 cup per serving).
- 8
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon chocolate shavings or sprinkles and 1/2 tablespoon mini chocolate chips over the whipped cream on each glass.
- 9
Optionally drizzle a little extra chocolate syrup over the whipped cream for extra visual appeal.
Serve
- 10
Serve immediately with a wide straw and a long spoon to enjoy the thick, creamy texture.
