Cake Base Preparation

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Cream Butter and Sugar
In another bowl, cream the softened butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue to beat until well mixed.

Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool the Cake
Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Make the Frosting
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, alternating with the heavy cream, and beat until the frosting is smooth and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Frost the Cake
Once the cake has completely cooled, spread the frosting evenly over the top and sides of the cake.

Top the frosted cake with fresh berries and mint leaves as desired for decoration.
