Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Trim any excess fat from the brisket, leaving about 1/4 inch for flavor.

  2. 2

    Make the Rub

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and brown sugar.

  3. 3

    Season the Brisket

Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, making sure to coat it evenly.

  4. 4

    Add Liquid Smoke

Drizzle the liquid smoke over the brisket and rub it in.

  5. 5

    Preheat Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).

  6. 6

    Smoke the Brisket

Place the brisket in the smoker, fat side up, and smoke for approximately 1.5 hours per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).

  7. 7

    Rest the Brisket

Once done, remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the brisket against the grain and serve with BBQ sauce on the side.
