Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Rinse the whole chicken under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Chicken

Rub the chicken with olive oil and season it with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Smoker

Soak wood chips in water for at least 30 minutes. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).

  4. 4

    Smoke the Chicken

Place the soaked wood chips in the smoker. Place the seasoned chicken in the smoker and smoke for about 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  5. 5

    Glaze with BBQ Sauce

During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the chicken with BBQ sauce. Continue to smoke until the sauce is caramelized.

  6. 6

    Rest and Serve

Remove the chicken from the smoker and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before carving. Serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
