All American BBQ Platter
Method
Preparation Steps
- 1
BBQ Chicken
Preheat your grill to medium heat. Season the whole chicken with salt and pepper. Grill the chicken for about 1 hour, rotating occasionally. Brush with BBQ sauce during the last 15 minutes of grilling. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from grill and let rest for 10 minutes before carving.
- 2
Smoked Brisket
Rub the brisket with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Let it sit for at least 1 hour (or overnight in the fridge for best results). Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Smoke the brisket for about 10-12 hours, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 195°F (90°C). Wrap in foil and let it rest for 30 minutes before slicing.
- 3
Pulled Pork
In a slow cooker, combine the pulled pork shoulder, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, salt, and water. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and shreds easily. Once done, shred the pork with two forks and mix in some of the cooking liquid for added flavor.
