Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steak dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to high heat. Once hot, place the ribeye steak on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This helps to retain the juices.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 4

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15-20 minutes or until fork-tender.

  2. 5

    Cook the Garlic

While the potatoes boil, peel and crush the garlic cloves. In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat, then add the garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  3. 6

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the sautéed garlic (with the butter), remaining butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
