Cooking Edamame

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

Add Edamame
Once the water is boiling, add 2 cups of edamame pods to the pot. Make sure the pods are submerged in the water.

Season with Salt
Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water and stir gently to dissolve.

Cook Edamame
Let the edamame cook in the boiling water for about 5-7 minutes, or until the pods are bright green and tender.

Drain and Cool
After cooking, drain the edamame in a colander and run cold water over them to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for a few minutes.

If desired, drizzle cooked edamame with 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes to taste.
