Make Pickling Liquid
In a small saucepan, combine apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.

Prepare Jalapenos
Slice the jalapenos thinly, removing seeds if less heat is desired.

Pickle the Jalapenos
In a clean jar, add the sliced jalapenos, salt, and apple cider vinegar. Ensure the jalapenos are submerged in the vinegar.

Marinate the Jalapenos
Let sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before using. For better flavor, refrigerate for at least a few hours.
French Bread

Prepare Bread
Slice the French baguette into 1-inch thick pieces.
Frites or Sweet Frites

Prepare Potatoes
Peel and cut the potatoes into thin strips for classic frites or into wedges for sweet frites.

Soak Potatoes
Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

Heat Oil
Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
