Prepare the Pork
Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper evenly on all sides.

Cook the Pork
Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add apple cider vinegar and water. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart.

Make the BBQ Sauce
In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened.

Shred the Pork
Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Discard any excess fat.

Mix with BBQ Sauce
In a large bowl, toss the shredded pork with the prepared BBQ sauce until evenly coated.

Assemble the Sandwich
Toast the hamburger buns if desired. Place a generous amount of BBQ pulled pork on the bottom half of each bun. Top with coleslaw if using, and cover with the top half of the bun.
