Panna Cotta

Fig Jam

Method

Panna Cotta

  1. 1

    Prepare Gelatin

In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it blooms.

  2. 2

    Heat Cream and Milk

In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat until the mixture is hot but not boiling, stirring occasionally.

  3. 3

    Melt White Chocolate

Remove the saucepan from heat and add the white chocolate chips. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Gelatin

Add the bloomed gelatin mixture to the warm cream and chocolate mixture. Stir until the gelatin is fully dissolved.

  5. 5

    Add Vanilla

Stir in the vanilla extract until combined.

  6. 6

    Pour into Molds

Pour the panna cotta mixture into individual serving cups or molds. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

Fig Jam

  1. 7

    Prepare Ingredients

Chop the fresh figs and measure out the sugar, lemon juice, and water.

  2. 8

    Cook the Jam

In a saucepan, combine the chopped figs, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture starts to boil.

  3. 9

    Simmer and Thicken

Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring frequently, until it thickens to a jam-like consistency.

  4. 10

    Cool and Store

Remove from heat and allow the fig jam to cool. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
