Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Glass

Start by choosing a lowball glass or an old-fashioned glass. Fill it with hand-cut ice rocks to chill while you prepare the drink.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing glass, add 1 tsp of sugar, 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, and 1 dash of Regans' No. 6 orange bitters. Muddle the sugar and bitters together gently until the sugar begins to dissolve.

  3. 3

    Add the Bourbon

Pour 2 oz of bourbon into the mixing glass with the muddled sugar and bitters combination. Stir gently to combine and chill the mixture.

  4. 4

    Strain and Serve

Remove the ice from the lowball glass you prepared earlier. Strain the bourbon mixture over the fresh hand-cut ice rocks in the glass.

  5. 5

    Garnish the Drink

Take a slice of orange and express the oils over the drink by holding the peel side down and gently squeezing it. Place the orange slice on the rim of the glass as a garnish.
