Preparing the Tea

Boil Water
In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

Steep Tea
Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and add the 4 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5 to 7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

Remove Tea Bags
After steeping, remove the tea bags from the saucepan and discard them.
Sweetening the Tea

While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar until completely dissolved.

Incorporate Lemon Juice
Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to the sweetened tea and stir well to combine.
Chilling and Serving

Allow the sweetened tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour until chilled.

In tall glasses, add 2 cups of ice cubes. Pour the chilled sweetened iced tea over the ice and garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves to taste.
