Method

Prepare the Base

  1. 1

    Cook the Sushi Rice

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a pot, combine the rinsed rice with 1.5 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let it sit for 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Season the Rice

In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Gently fold this mixture into the cooked rice and let it cool to room temperature.

Prepare the Fish

  1. 3

    Slice the Fish

Using a sharp knife, slice the fresh salmon and tuna into thin sashimi-style pieces. Set aside.

  2. 4

    Prepare Crab Meat

If using lump crab meat, gently flake it apart to loosen. Set aside.

Prepare Toppings

  1. 5

    Cut the Avocado and Cucumber

Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out. Cut into thin slices. Thinly slice the cucumber into rounds.

  2. 6

    Prepare Seaweed

Cut the seaweed sheets into strips if desired for easier serving.

  3. 7

    Prepare Green Onions

    Finely chop the green onions.

Assemble the Fishbowl

  1. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

In a bowl, start with a base of seasoned sushi rice. Arrange the sliced salmon, tuna, crab meat, avocado, cucumber, and seaweed on top.

  2. 9

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the top of the bowl.

  3. 10

    Serve with Sauce

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, wasabi, and sriracha. Serve on the side for dipping.
