Burger Patty Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Bison Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground bison, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the bison mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help it cook evenly.
Cooking the Burger
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. If using a grill, ensure it is properly oiled to prevent sticking.
- 4
Cook the Patties
Place the bison patties on the grill and cook for about 4–5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
Assemble the Burger
- 5
Prepare the Buns
While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill until golden brown.
