Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cod

Pat the cod fillets dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Chop the Garnish

Finely chop the fresh parsley and set aside. Cut the lemon into wedges for serving.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Cod

Add the cod fillets to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

  3. 5

    Add Butter and Capers

Once the cod is cooked, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter, lemon juice, and capers to the pan. Spoon the melted butter sauce over the fish for about 2 minutes.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Carefully transfer the cod fillets to serving plates and drizzle with the buttery caper sauce from the pan.

  2. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the fish and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
