Method
Prepare the Croutons
- 1
Make the Croutons
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the bread into bite-sized cubes.
- 2
Season and Bake
In a bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated. Spread them out on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown, turning halfway through.
- 3
Cool the Croutons
Remove the croutons from the oven and let them cool while you prepare the salad.
Prepare the Dressing
- 4
Mix the Dressing Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, anchovy paste, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
- 5
Whisk Together
Whisk all the ingredients together until smooth and well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Assemble the Salad
- 6
Prepare the Lettuce
Wash the Romaine lettuce thoroughly and chop it into bite-sized pieces. Place it in a large salad bowl.
- 7
Add Cheese and Dressing
Sprinkle the shredded Parmesan cheese over the lettuce, then drizzle the prepared Caesar dressing on top.
- 8
Toss the Salad
Gently toss the salad until the lettuce is well coated with dressing and cheese.
- 9
Add Croutons and Serve
Top the salad with the homemade croutons and serve immediately.
