Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruit Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mixed seasonal fruits, granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss gently until the fruits are evenly coated. Set aside for 15 minutes to allow the juices to release.

Cobbler Topping Preparation

  1. 2

    Make the Cobbler Topping

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and milk, and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; small lumps are okay.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 3

    Assemble the Cobbler

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the fruit mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Spoon the cobbler topping evenly over the fruit, spreading it gently to cover as much of the fruit as possible.

  2. 4

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly. A toothpick inserted into the topping should come out clean.

Chantilly Cream Preparation

  1. 5

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, whip the cream on high speed until soft peaks form.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Cobbler

Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Serve warm topped with a generous dollop of Chantilly cream.
