Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to combine, being careful not to overwork the meat. Divide the mixture into four equal portions (about 1/2 pound each) and form each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip. Top each patty with a slice of American cheese and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your desired doneness.

Bacon Preparation

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

Vegetable Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and dry the lettuce, then tear into pieces. Slice the tomato into rounds and slice the onion into rings.

Sides Preparation

  1. 5

    Cook the Sides

Prepare either the French fries or onion rings according to package instructions, typically baking or frying until golden and crispy.

Burger Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster. On the bottom half of each bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the burger patty with melted cheese, bacon, tomato slices, and onion rings. Top with the other half of the bun.
