Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cook the Fries

Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the frozen fries package. Spread the frozen fries on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake according to package instructions until crispy and golden brown, usually about 20-25 minutes.

  2. 2

    Frying Option

Alternatively, heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the frozen fries to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Assembling the Cheese Fries

  1. 3

    Add Cheese

Once the fries are cooked, remove them from the oven or fryer and place them on a large serving platter. Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over the hot fries.

  2. 4

    Melt the Cheese

Place the platter of fries under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, watching closely, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Adding Toppings

  1. 5

    Top with Bacon and Onions

Remove the fries from the oven and immediately sprinkle the crumbled bacon and sliced green onions over the melted cheese.

  2. 6

Finish with Sour Cream and Jalapeños

Drizzle sour cream over the top and add jalapeños according to your taste preferences.
