Bread Pudding

Method

Bread Pudding Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the French bread into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes and gently fold in the white chocolate chips and chopped pecans until evenly coated. Allow the mixture to sit for about 15 minutes so the bread can soak up the liquid.

  4. 4

    Bake the Pudding

Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Vanilla Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.

  2. 6

    Create the Sauce

Add the heavy cream and granulated sugar to the melted butter. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves, and bring to a gentle simmer.

  3. 7

    Add Vanilla

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Dish

Scoop portions of the warm bread pudding into bowls. Top each serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzle with vanilla sauce, and sprinkle with additional chopped pecans before serving.
